Exploring the Role Parks & Green Spaces Play in the City:
This is a project which asks students to research and explore the
role that Parks and Green spaces play in the city. You would identify specific
issues or topics of interest regarding parks and green spaces, and produce an article, a report, a set of research, a news feature, a film or documentary, radio show, podcast, set of photographs, or a performance.

Improving City Spaces:
In this Bristol’s Green Capital year, we are putting a call-out for students to get creative and identify a space in the city that is unloved and underused, and develop a proposal to improve it or suggest series of activities that could take place within it. Funding for improvement ideas is available.

Documenting Communities & Parks /
Tracking Personal and Social History:
This is a people-centric project, exploring the following question:
“How do parks and green spaces contribute to the lives of Bristol’s residents?”
The key here is that the answer to this question must be discovered through the stories of parks groups volunteers, and users of parks and green spaces in Bristol. This project could also be considering a tracking of social history, meaning researching into local history and knowledge and discovering old stories.

Developing Cultural/Historical Walking Routes & Trails:
This project is a chance for students to research into the geography
and history of Bristol and some of it’s Parks and Green Spaces, and then
formulate walking trails that would be both interesting and informative to
members of the public. These could start, end or pass through parks
and green spaces or be self-contained in one.

Developing Project-Specific Parks Fundraising Strategies:
We are looking for volunteers who would like to work with the Bristol Parks Forum (the umbrella organisation for community Parks Groups throughout the city)
to develop and implement fundraising strategies for a range of specific projects. These include projects focused on Nature, Wildlife, Play, Sports, Events and Community Activities in parks taking place in areas all over the city.
